Simple Plan Foundation supported another event in order to help hearing impaired children. And the result was that more than $100 000 was raised thanks to this event. Read more in the article below:

Supported by Simple Plan, the benefit event « Les saveurs du théâtre » was a great success. Presented last May 4th by Lobe Santé auditive et communication, in partnership with Widex, Sennheiser and Starkey, to profit the « Fondation Sourdine », it gathered more than 350 persons, who attended a play especially written by Marie-Thérese Quinton for the hearing impaired children, with the generous participation of the actress Sophie Faucher. The performance was followed by a gastronomic meal at Pur hotel, thanks to the talented chefs that have contributed: François Privé of Pur hotel, Stéphane Modat of L’Utopie, Joseph Sarrazin of the 47e Parallele and Jean-Luc Piquemal, consultant.

On the occasion, the members of the band have sent by video a message of encouragement to the deaf children; moreover, many autographed items have been sold off by auction, among them one of Seb’s guitar at $5 500! The evening allowed the «Fondation Sourdine» to raise the incredible amount of more than $109 000 net, more than twice as much as last year. All the proceeds have been donated to the «École oraliste pour enfants sourds», a school where deaf children learn oral language.

Simple Plan Foundation aiuta l'associazione Raymond-Roy

Through the Simple Plan Foundation, the band Simple Plan already raised funds for many organizations that works for the welfare of young people from diverse nations and social conditions.

Among the selected organizations, Fondation des Auberges du Coeur received the donation of $5.000 to create a fellowship of the Simple Plan Foundation. Since then, both had agreed to destine $4.000 to a project that would be of huge relevance to the young musicians, who would get about $1.000 after a beneficient concert of the band in Montreal on December 2008.

Thanks to this, Raymond-Roy received a donation of $4.000 to make a musical incentive. They got new equipment for its studio and new musical instruments.

For 2009 are planned a lot of workshops (vocals, guitar, percussion, piano, art, etc...) available for the residents of both houses. Also there's a basement, the Café du Cœur, that allows kids, even the actors, to perform a show in a cabaret style.

At the moment the kids are busy with their productions, design and room decorations, lights, sounds, movies, animes.

On July 9th, the 14ª Edition of Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau happened in Montreal, that raised funds to help children with cancer, supported by diverse institutions, and, between them, also Simple Plan Foundation.

After travelling more than 600 kilometres in four days, the Tour CIBC had raised the incredible sum of $ 1 025 000, widely surpassing the fundraising goal of $850,000 and the proceeds will be destinated to Charles-Bruneau.

Emilie Dubé, spokesperson for the 14th edition of the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau, said: "I had fun encouraging the cyclists and sharing my experience with the people I met, especially the members of Simple Plan."

Together with comedian Sebastien Delorme, the three members of the Montreal-based group - Chuck Comeau, Sebastien Lefebvre and Jeff Stinco - cycled close to 125 kilometers on final day, alongside the 35 ambassadors who also joined the field of riders.

Today, on August 9th it's exactly one year since the death of an 18-year-old boy - Freddy Villanueva, who was murdered on a parking lot in Montreal, Canada. This day is being remember by a 2-day event in Montreal, in order to promote peace in this area.

There's no big surprise that Simple Plan are also involved in this event. Last year, the guitarist Jeff Stinco mentioned that the band will raise funds for cases like this one and after a year, there are already some noticeable changes.

The place of the tragedy has enormously changed. There is even an ice-skating rink now and Simple Plan want to build there also a center for youngs, so that diverse foundations can focus on problems like this one.

Simple Plan fronted the campaign, which launched last fall, and proceeds went towards War Child's education program in war-ravaged eastern Congo. The two new schools - Tamala and Mshimbakye will allow 650 students to return to school after years of civil war.

Simple Plan band member Chuck Comeau, said "It is a great honor to have been part of this amazing campaign and to have been able to make a difference to so many children's lives. We've been supporters of War Child for a long time and we know the money will be spent wisely."

War Child Founder and Executive Director, Dr Samantha Nutt said, "This initiative shows that Spring and the ALDO Group continue to be leaders in social responsibility. War Child is delighted to be Spring's charitable partner."

"The launch of this new bracelet means a brighter future for children affected by war" said Effie Giannou, Public Relations Manager for the ALDO Groupe.
